Squires Enterprises builds small web applications for people who need an account of something that holds up over time: an heirloom's history as it changes hands, or a league's scores once the week is locked. Both run on hardware we own, and both are open to the public today.

Every heirloom has a story. As keepsakes change hands, their stories travel with them.

A place to catalog the things worth keeping — jewelry, instruments, vehicles, art, firearms — and to write down what happened to them, so the history stays attached to the object instead of to whoever happens to remember it. Photos, dates, and the notes people leave behind all live on the item's own page.

Owners decide who sees what: public to anyone, visible to approved followers, or private. Collections let a curator gather items across several owners, and both sides have to agree before an item joins or leaves — with a permanent record of the fact either way.

League operations

TrapLeague

Scores, standings, and squads for trap shooting leagues.

Built for the Mon Valley Trap League and any league that runs the same way. Secretaries enter scores squad by squad, post by post, the way the line actually shoots them. A finished score finds its own week: today first, then unfinished weeks at that club, and ahead only once a shooter is caught up.

Weekly club results lock when the Secretary says so and never move again. Class assignments are computed all season and shown to no one — not shooters, not Secretaries, not the Admin — until the season is closed, because there is prize money riding on them. Past seasons can be imported straight from the league's printed score sheets.

How the work is done

Small applications, kept close to home.

Self-hosted

Both applications run on hardware we own, behind Caddy with automatically renewed Let's Encrypt certificates, and are deployed as Portainer Git stacks. No third party sits between a user and their records.

Server-rendered

Spring Boot and Thymeleaf, PostgreSQL underneath, with the schema owned by migrations rather than guesswork. Pages load fast on the club Wi-Fi and work on a phone in a parking lot.

Rules written down

Every league rule and design decision is logged in the order it was made, so the reason behind a behavior is still findable a year later. The scoring math is isolated and tested on its own.
